Incumbent CM Kejriwal's Agenda in Delhi Elections 2020

With PM Modi, drawing first blood, started his campaigning in Delhi Elections 2020 by speaking on CAA-NRC and attacking AAP from Delhi's Ramlila Maidan. The fight is on between incumbent CM Kejriwal and PM Narendra Modi for Delhi. It seems incumbent CM Kejriwal choosing not to touch contentious issues like CAA-NRC, Article 370, instead choose to be on the safe side. Many surveys showing incumbent CM Kejriwal to be popular in Delhi. The plan seems to tone down on contentious issues and instead concentrate on work done in Delhi. In his close to 27 minutes speech, incumbent CM Kejriwal put the ball rolling for party campaigning in Delhi Assembly Elections 2020.

launching  AAP's Achievement report (CM Kejriwal speech highlights)

Incumbent CM Kejriwal giving more importance to the achievements launched 'AAP ka report Card'  on Tuesday(12/24/2019) which emphasized its top 10 achievements in its 5-year rule. He in his speech-giving importance to its achievements in Education, Health, Women empowerment. He highlighted the work done on the Education field, how his government transformed government-run state schools to compete with private schools and put the check on admission fees of private schools. Definitely, a lot of work is done by AAP on the Education front and it was truly reflected in its report.
On the health and Electricity front, he spoke about how the health sector was transformed and no Electricity cut in his 5 years term. He spoke on women's safety and empowerment, how installing  CCTV's, free public transports for women doing good to women safety.
Honesty was highlighted, how his government was given clean chit from CAG, Delhi police, Income tax department, CBI. Honesty was always a forte for AAP, they stormed the political arena with the word 'Honesty'.
AAP's plans about striking on tanker mafia, water issues were highlighted. Further,  door- to- door campaigning, mohalla sabha's,Kejriwal's seven town halls follow.

All in all, incumbent CM Kejriwal being a ground level leader, it will not be easy to uproot him in Delhi Assembly Elections 2020.

PM(Prime Minister)Modi's name is not enough to win assembly elections: untold reality

It is the truth that PM Narendra Modi's stature is gigantic in Indian history. Very few Indian prime ministers(only Ex-PM  Jawaharlal Nehru)  have won consecutive elections (2014,2019), with this type of thumping majority(282 seats in 2014,303 seats in 2019). There is no denying that he is the charm personified. He had gained a good reputation in international circles, he has put India on the world map. His commitment to BJP is unquestionable, election after elections his campaigning really helping BJP to perform well. But why BJP is losing state after state?. It has lost 5 states in a year. Its time BJP to really introspect deeply, How long will they bank only on Modi's name to garner votes?. There is no denying that state issues are different and central issues are different. In all these state elections which BJP has lost, state leaders are performing very badly. They have to know, a collective effort is needed to win elections. Let's see insights into the BJP ex-CM performance in a lost state.

Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2019 (Ex-CM Raghubar Das)

He is known to be an arrogant, corrupt to the core leader. He is tarnishing Modi's image as a clean leader. In his tenure, he ruthlessly tried to suppress tribals, who have taught him a befitting lesson. He lost his own ( Jamshedpur (East)) seat to  BJP rebel Saryu Roy, who contested elections as an independent.BJP rebel Saryu Roy, known to be an honest person was not given the due importance.Ex-CM Raghubar Das untouched about the ground realities was taught a lesson.

Similarly, in states of Rajasthan, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh arrogance of state leaders is taking a toll on BJP's performance. In Haryana, CM Dushyant Chautala is also known to be very arrogant. Madhya Pradesh rocked with corruption scandals like Vyapam saw the end of charismatic ex-CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The fact is that all these five states helped BJP to win Lok Sabha 2019 elections.

I conclude, For how long BJP's state leaders will bask under Modi's name to cover-up their arrogance, non-performance. They have to put there hand up for BJP to perform better in Assembly elections.BJP's , Jharkhand Elections 2019 loss is a strategic blunder.

The BJP, Congress, JMM has up their ante for the one last time. All the top leaders including PM Modi, Amit Shah, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi whirlwind visits to Jharkhand continue. In an election rally at Barhait in Sahebganj district in Jharkhand PM Modi seen clearing the false air about Citizenship Amendment Act and attacking the Congress and its allies JMM and RJD, Left. Congress General Secretary, Priyanka Gandhi  Vadra in an elections rally at Pakur hit back at BJP, she says on the passage of Citizenship Amendment Bill as "India's tryst with bigotry".With the allegations and counter-allegations, the battle pitch seeing a stellar contest.

                                                     About Santhal Pargana

Santhal Pargana consists of Sixteen of the 18 constituencies across six districts such as Deoghar, Godda, Sahebganj, Pakur, Dumka, and Jamtara. In Jharkhand Elections 2014, Santhal Pargana was mainly a battle between BJP and JMM. With the high intensity of the campaign going on in Jharkhand for Santhal Pargana, the importance of the area is known. With JMM intensifying its campaigning focusing on land acquisition, to break tribal vote since incumbent CM Ragubar Das became infamous among tribals for land acquisition(Tenancy laws).BJP  banking on Hindu vote Consolidation by pitching the importance of the Citizenship Amendment Act and NRC. Most of the constituencies in phase 5 share borders with West Bengal and have there share of immigrants, hence mostly Hindus of this area will welcome CAA(Citizenship Amendment Act).it is said that JMM's previous CM Shibu Soren has a good hold in this region. The one who consolidates the most of Hindu and tribal votes will win Santhal Pargana.

SUPREME COURT’S ROLE IN ELECTIONS 2019:AMELIORATING POLITICS

Supreme court which is one of the 3 pillars on which democracy is reposing. In elections 2019, SC played its part well as a guardian of the Constitution and corrected the loopholes that our polity was going through in functioning, in 2019. The problem arises when the said constitutional functionaries fail to perform their functions in a just and fair manner.

One of the worries in Indian polity is the functioning of governors, speakers with there limited functional power's, there are mostly apolitical proxies. With the word 'apolitical proxies', I mean, they are slaves of there masters. Governors, speakers sing the song of the party they represent before becoming governor. Maybe its a flaw in our constitution, but our forefathers very foresightedly gave the power to the supreme court, as a watchdog of the constitution.

The questionable functioning of governors, speakers In India in 2019

In the states in which questionable decisions are taken by governors, speakers are Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharastra. In Karnataka, former Karnataka assembly speaker K.R. Ramesh Kumar to disqualify 17 rebel Congress-Janata Dal (Secular) legislators for defection was challenged in the supreme court. The former speaker K.R Ramesh Kumar having disqualified the MLA's due to defection (Disobaying party whip) tried to shun the disqualified MLA from contesting by-poll. But by SC coming into the schene, knowingly gave a decision in favor of people. Made the people decide the political future of disqualified MLA's.Showing the legislature, that people are supreme.
In Maharashtra, the petition was filed by shiv-sena regarding the floor test, the SC requested the governor to perform floor test as soon as possible, with a pro-term speaker at the helm and to be telecasted live. The SC read the Maharastra situation well, the secretive practices were kept at bay and clear transparency was employed by SC. The petition filed to declare the formation of Maharashtra Government by the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance of Shiv Sena-Nationalist Congress Party- Congress as 'unconstitutional' was struck down by calling "Political Morality is different from Constitutional Morality".Insightful and just clearing the quagmire in politics of Maharastra.
Similarly in Jammu and Kashmir, also the governor's roles have a constitutional functionary has been questionable, which was further resolved by placing a president's rule.

I conclude, the unsung hero of 2019  is our Supreme Court which gave some excellent decisions which installed our faith in democracy.

First phase Jharkhand elections(summary)

With the battle lines drawn between incumbent BJP and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal alliance, Jharkhand goes to polls. The polling in the first phase for 13 constituencies which started at 7 AM ended at 3 PM. Around 62.87 percent of votes were cast till 3 pm on Saturday in the first phase of Jharkhand assembly elections according to officials, it may go up some percentage since voters coming in at 3 pm are also allowed to vote. A total of 37,83,055 electorate exercised their franchise which comprises of 18,01,356 women and five third-gender voters in phase 1 across six districts.13 constituencies which went to polls come under Naxal hit areas which are  Chatra, Gumla, Bishunpur, Lohardaga, Manika, Latehar, Panki, Daltonganj, Bishrampur, Chhatarpur, Hussainabad, Garhwa, and Bhawanathpur. Hence the Naxal violence was envisioned, the security was beefed up accordingly but some reports stated, Naxals blew a bridge in Gumla district where no casualties are reported. Reported clashes between two groups was recorded in Daltonganj assembly constituency, it is said police calmed the situation and the polling continued as usual. Besides these intermittent incidents, polling in phase 1 was overall smooth. In 2014 majority of seats were won by BJP, in the assembly constituencies of 1 phase. This time curbing Naxal violence being an election issue, both Bjp and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal alliance are eyeing for these 13 constituencies. Jharkhand CM claiming to have curbed the Naxal menace, have to be seen how this claim goes with the voters. With Election Commission doing its duty well, the whole process was a smooth exercise with some violent incidents. To conclude, Jharkand went to polls in a peaceful manner, whole exercise was well construed with some violent incidents. No casualties were recorded in these incidents. The voter turnout lags behind the overall voter turnout in 2014 by 3 percent, but it's just a 1 phase more 4 phases are yet to come.

POLITICAL SITUATION IN INDIA

From the times of the past to now, the political situation went from instability to stability. I feel at present with a full majority government at the helm, the political situation is very stable. With PM Narendra Modi at the helm of affairs, in his second term political graph is a stable curve. With the supreme court giving important judgments of Ayodya and rafale, which calmed every political party. The peaceful political situation at present, some credit must go to SC. The burning issues that made a political uproar in previous times, with the SC judgments (rafale judgment) became a peaceful environment. Some controversial bills like Article 370(which takes the power of the independent constitution of Jammu and Kashmir and make Jammu and Kashmir a union territory), which created political ripples and made somewhat political uproar at the start but because of center planning the situation well became calm and it's stable now. The issue where the opposition is trying to find chinks in the armor is, the government is marking the bills as money bills and passing it in Lok sabha so that they can bipartisan the discussion time. At present, the opposition is trying to exploit the situation. If we see in parts of India, states like Karnataka and at present Maharastra are making the overall political situation unstable,  Maharastra is under president rule, the infighting between BJP and shiv sena created somewhat political instability which caused shiv sena leaving BJP. This state at present creating a somewhat political unstable environment in India, previously Karnataka was the state which created some instability in the otherwise calm political Indian environment, with SC giving disqualified MLA to participate in Karnataka elections, the situation in Karnataka which created political ripples all over India is tending to a stable state. To sum up, the political situation is mostly stable and the due credit goes to our supreme court for giving good judgments which provided and created a peaceful political situation.

Jharkhand election

With 81 Assembly constituencies Jharkand goes for polls, from November 30 to December 20.Election commission announcing its 5-phase voting schedule for Jharkhand. Jharkhand turns out to be a slugfest between BJP  and Congress-Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) alliance. The incumbent chief minister Raghubar Das after providing a stable government in a rather unstable political situation till then in Jharkhand. Tribal population in resource-rich Jharkhand is 26.3 percent of the state population, the vote of tribals will be the deciding factor in this election. With his rather unpopular image among tribals because of tenancy act(which provides private companies to acquire land from tribals) and the mergers of small government schools into big(Which made small schools in tribal land inaccessible to tribals), the incumbent CM Raghubar Das had gone through a lot of protests from the tribal communities. Being a non-tribal and became unpopular among tribals is a factor in this election.BJP going solo in this elections without its Allie, All Jharkhand Students Union(AJSU) can disturb its tribal votes. Although BJP has done very well in LOK SABHA polls in the state, it is the only ray of hope. With showing of BJP in Maharashtra and Haryana, congress in an optimistic mood trying to strengthen its hold in the state. With the positive moves by the central government by removing 370 articles can appease Jharkhand educated class to vote for BJP. With All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) in the race, it can be analyzed if it cut through the Muslim base of congress it can help BJP.AIMIM can be a spoiler for Congress and allies. With its tail up congress and its allies are stronger this time, at least it has some brightest prospect with the mistakes of the incumbent government. After the Loksabha elections win, the BJP government started to appease tribals in its last minute's effects by launching 462 Eklavya Model Residential Schools, it is yet to be seen if its enough to churn votes in their favor. Jharkhand government has done a reasonable work on choking Naxal violence, is definitely a strong point but if it turns out into votes is yet to be seen. If the Loksabha elections trend is anything to go by, it favors an incumbent government but I feel it needs AJSU. I conclude,  there is opposition towards the incumbent government, how much it dents its vote is to be seen, the infighting with AJSU can dent its tribal votes. Overall, I feel it will not be a cakewalk for BJP.
